Corrosion is a very common problem for locks that are out in all weathers. If they go in all the way, it may be worth spraying WD40 to help them turn. Often a freshly cut key will not match the wear pattern of an older lock, but WD40 can help in these instances and with corrosion or dirt in an old lock.
I bought key number 134 because that was the number stamped on the back of the barrel but that key does not work.
LockDoctor.Biz: The number on the back of the lock is just a part number for the metal housing of the barrel – it is not the replacement key number. The replacement key number is either stamped on the lockface or it will be on the original sales document. Without that number you will need to replace the barrel for one with new keys.
